Who said it’s not easy being Green?
We disagree with our superhero friends. It’s easy being Green!
Green bills get paid! Thus far, the Crowd has agreed to pay every green bill submitted to them. On the other hand, the Crowd has agreed to fund less than 5% of bills submitted that were scored RED.
There are two ways that your bills will be scored red. You can easily avoid them both.
- If your generosity score is less than 90, it will be scored RED…and the Crowd doesn’t typically fund those bills. You can find your generosity score on the front page of the app. If it is currently below 90, please reach out to us. We can tell you how long it will take for you to get back to the 90 level.
Great communities are comprised of great community members who help each other in need. The Generosity Score is our way of showing others in the community whether or not you have helped others in need when you’ve been asked.
Some important notes on the calculation of your generosity score:
- If your credit card is declined for some reason during the month, we will ask you again. It happens to all of us and we don’t want your generosity score impacted for payment issues.
- If you are in a bit of a cash crunch and don’t have the money to help at that moment , and decline the request, we will ask you again later in the month.
- If you don’t want to help with the bill that we are asking you to help with (for whatever reason) then you can decline and we will give you another chance to help that month without your generosity score being impacted.
You will see a temporary decline in your generosity score in the above scenarios but it will be restored if you say “yes” to the next request.
- If your bill is 20% greater than the fair price in your location, it will be scored RED. One of the primary goals of CrowdHealth is reduce healthcare prices. When we ask you for a contribution, on behalf of another member, we believe you should know whether that person is paying a ridiculous price or a fair price. We believe that information allows you to make a better funding decision.
To ensure a fair price we ask our members to shop for their healthcare services (or allow CrowdHealth to shop on their behalf). We believe that these market forces will significantly reduce prices for our member immediately and change prices for the entire system over time. When our members allow CrowdHealth to help, we will first see if another member in our community has seen a doctor for the same service in that area. If not, we will call around to compare prices for you. By letting us know, that will ensure that your bill is scored green.
